Scientific director

Jerome Hochman, Ph.D.

Jerome Hochman has over 30 years of experience in drug discovery and development in the pharmaceutical industry, with broad experience in discovery and development of conventional and innovative therapeutic modalities.  He earned a PhD in biochemistry from Michigan State University and performed postdoctoral research in immunology and cell biology at the Johns Hopkins University.  Following his postdoctoral studies Dr. Hochman joined Merck and Co with responsibilities for scientific and strategic guidance on ADME of conventional and novel therapeutic modalities.  In this role Dr. Hochman supported discovery and development programs applying small molecules, antibodies, peptides, vaccines, and oncolytic viruses as therapeutic agents to address unmet medical needs.  Applying concepts of ADME/PK, physiology, cell biology and biochemistry, Dr Hochman’s research focused on mechanistic understanding of barriers and pathways regulating pharmacologically relevant drug exposure for diverse modalities. He authored and co-authored over 50 research publications, review articles and book chapters, served as a reviewer and guest editor for scientific journals, and presented his research at many national and international scientific meetings.
