Thomayant Prueksaritanont has over 25 years of experience in drug discovery and development research in pharmaceutical industry. After completing a Ph.D. program in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Illinois and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California at San Francisco, she joined Merck & Co (West Point, Pennsylvania, U.S.A), as a Senior Research Chemist, and held positions of increasing responsibility (last position held – Senior Director and Distinguished scientist) within Merck Research Laboratories (MRL, West Point, PA). She has contributed to the discovery and development of several Merck programs, co-authored or authored over 100 scientific articles and book chapters, and served as a referee for several Journals in Pharmaceutical or related sciences as well as an editorial member for peer review journals. In 2008, she was elected as a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS). She retired from MRL in January 2016.
